Hero Motocorp Xtreme is the sports bike launched by Hero after the Hero Honda CBZ. The CBZ was a great hit among the market. However, after their split, Hero has named this Hero CBZ Xtreme to just Xtreme. This is a 150cc bike that has been launched for the younger generation and the design and the look is also inspired by this thought.
Looks - Being one of the best looking bikes, Xtreme has perfect ergonomics to appeal the younger generation. The seat is upright with wide handles. The instrument console is semi-digital and the fuel tank is huge and the prism shell LED tail lamps add to the beauty. The additional feature of the console is side-stand indicator and the service due indicator.
Dimensions - This is a big beast with the dimensions of 2060x765x1145 mm. With the wheelbase of 1325mm, you get a ground clearance of 145 mm. As said earlier, the fuel tank is huge, the tank capacity is 12 litres with 1.5 litres of usable reserve. The Kerb weight is 145 kg.
Engine & Gearbox - The Hero Motocorp Xtreme is powered by the 149cc 4-stroke air cooled single cylinder engine that produces 14.4 Ps of maximum power @ 8500 rpm and a maximum torque of 12.8 NM @ 6500 rpm, which gives you a very great drive just like the ones of a sporty category. This is connected to the 5-speed gearbox at the rear wheel.
Suspension & Brakes - The engine performs real good, and is combined with the diamond type chassis. The telescopic hydraulic type suspension at the front and rectangular swing arm with 5-step Adjustable Gas Reservoir Suspension at the end. This bike uses hydraulic absorbers that are better than pure-hydraulic units as they retain viscosity. You can find an option for the brakes at the rear - disc and drum. And a 240mm disc brake at the front gives good steadiness.
Overview - There is an additional feature that you would like to hear about. This bike has got an engine immobilizer to prevent theft and the con of this feature is losing the key as it takes nearly one month to get another one. So its better that you take care of its keys. Another great feature is the mobile charging socket under the seat that is primary requirement of today’s world.
So if you are someone who likes to go drives on highways and commute less in the city areas, then this is a great bike and is priced at around Rs. 69,325. It is available in 5 colours - Jazz Blue, Magma Orange, Fiery Red, Mercuric Silver and Panther Black. So, go for this bike if you are a adventurous person and like those high speed drives on highway.
