Design and Features
The DesignJet T120 has compact dimensions of 11.2 by 38.9 by 20.9 inches. It weighs just 56 pounds. The DesignJet T120 has a normal complement of four ink tanks as compared to a dozen ink tanks in Canon Pixma PRO nine ink tanks in Epson Stylus Pro. This printer connects via USB, Ethernet, and Wi-Fi. It also comes with the HP Designjet ePrint and Share utility.
Photo Printing Speed
The HP Designjet T120 24-in ePrinter is a near-dedicated graphic arts printer. It takes an average of 1 minute per 4-by-6 print and 1 minute 39 seconds for an 8-by-10 print. It is comparatively faster than the Epson 3880 and Canon PRO-1.
The T120 is not built to print text and other standard office documents as it is more of a graphic arts printer. Its overall output quality is above par for an inkjet with decent text, above-average graphics and above-par photos. Text quality was good enough except in case of small fonts. The printer is good when it comes to printing plots and diagrams which is its intended use. The only flaw is minor banding in the form of faint striations.
Overall, this printer is a good choice for achitecture, engineering, and construction students and free-lance professionals. It has a fast printing speed, but has just 4 colour tanks which is less compared to other printers in the price range.
